Talking 50 Days Over $200 New Beginnings IV

Starting Day 50 with a new thread. Definitely feel better since 1/27. Went through a respiratory ailment for almost two weeks during that stretch...so thankful I wasn't smoking, using, drinking.

Don't have the money saved, but more true is that I have not spent $204.00 on cigarettes. I can only guess not spent $150.00 on alcohol.

I was able to spend more on food, transportation, OTCs, cat.

It's nice too I haven't borrowed a dime from anyone these past 7 weeks, nor have I asked for a cigarette.

Today I have had slight urges...but just like after the first two weeks the urges are fleeting and last but a few seconds.

Good day.

First full day of spring and nicotine free.....must stay vigilante...I do miss a few things about cigs in the morning...won't dwell on them.

I have now stopped smoking for 1 month, 3 weeks, 4 days, 9 hours, 12 minutes, 21 seconds. That translates into 587 cigarettes NOT smoked, for a savings of $220.21! At 5 minutes per cigarette I have increased my life expectancy by 2 days, 56 minutes, 5 seconds.

Staying close to SR and those that support my effort...I haven't replaced smoking so quite a few times I get this empty feeling like striking out at baseball. I'm glad it is spring.

The feeling of being overwhelmed....and overwhelming thoughts are definite triggers for drinking and smoking along with procrastination and inertia. It might sound simple but up until now I hadn't grasped this concept. Then of course what to do about such...for now, literally, "wash the f*ck*n' dishes."

Doing well each day is a foray in to new territory being clean from nicotine, abstinent and sober.

Off to Atlanta tomorrow to see the son and his family. Will do it without alcohol or cigarettes. Go down there proud and thankful. Staying till Sunday. Had a heart to heart with my other son too....he was very accepting in me opening up to him about recovery and mental illness. Am staying close to SR today,,,,but need to reboot.

If I can live nicotine free on this happy day of mine it will be a miracle truly. Might not convert me but will truly believe in living free from addictions.

In Kansas City long lay over tempting to smoke. Smoked a lot in airports, on the road, through out life. Hungry took care of. Tired but slept most of day. Nothing a smoke would make better.NTAP HALT
