3 months today! Up 2 lbs, but breathing is much better, and my gums finally stopped bleeding. Keep it up friends!

froscow 10-15-2019 09:43 AM

36 days now without a cigarette.
it's weird...I don't actually miss smoking..I miss looking forward to smoking...that quiet time with a cig at the end of the night.

wiscsober 11-06-2019 10:06 AM

here just a few minutes since my last puff...
I am motivated...just want to get through the rest of this day nicotine free...
Treat myself as sick...going down for nap

wiscsober 11-07-2019 03:20 AM

not going to happen today.... :-(

MLD51 11-12-2019 08:33 AM

Over 3 months now. Feeling pretty good. Still working on the bleeding gums, though.

How's it gong now, Wicsober?

Canadian Koala 04-27-2020 02:33 PM

I'm so happy to be a non smoker knowing it will give me a huge chance of surviving Covid-19 if I ever catch it...

Almost three and half years already!

How is everybody doing?

Re: 24 Hour No Nicotine/No Smoking Club ~ Part 13

That's awesome koala. I'm 9.5 months and had a smoking dream last night. It's been awhile since I've had that happen. I enjoyed the smoke in my dream, followed by the horror of blowing it. I was so happy when I woke up that it wasn't real.
I'm still chewing the gum, but trying not to beat myself up too bad about it. Ironically, they are saying smokers are not bearing the brunt of the covid symptoms. Something about nicotene possibly blocking the virus symptoms. Seems odd, but nicotene is the natural pesticide to protect the tobacco plant, so maybe?ÂÂÂ
The French, I think,ÂÂÂ are doing studies with nicotene patches I hear.ÂÂÂ
Absolutely no reason to start smoking. I love being a non smoker, and I feel healthier at 50 than I did at 35!

Keep the good work Libby, you are a success story at 9½ months !

Yes, I read about this. They found that smokers were getting covid less in China and France. Ironically, i'm on the patch and have been for over 8 weeks. No cigarettes since 03/01/20!

wiscsober 05-29-2020 05:19 AM

starting off today after 3 smokes ... no more ... I hope ... some determination ... beginning now ...

wiscsober 05-29-2020 10:51 PM

Nice work Wisc. Glad to see you back at it. I just kept putting off the next one, and before I knew it I had quite a streak going. I ve not looked back since. Hope you feeling better with no residual effects.:burnout:

Erratic 06-09-2020 12:31 AM

i am here starting my first day of NS, have done a year before and months off and on and also have cut back over past couple of years since my first gson was born, so here goes doing this again and to save half my money with my AF days aswell, so it will inspire more motivation and will see more results x

Canadian Koala 06-10-2020 02:13 AM

Go for it Erratic!:c011:
I've saved tons of money since I've quit.
You can make it happen, cravings will be a thing from the past in a few weeks.

Oglsby 06-16-2020 11:49 AM

Hi everyone. On day 22 without smoking. Day 32 without drinking (was just a very light drinker but decided to just stop). Did the patch for 12 days and it was too strong. I was going to buy the lower dose, but decided to just go for it. Smoked a pack every other day. Can already tell a major difference in my breathing, sense of smell, and food tastes much better.
Og

Oglsby 06-20-2020 05:12 AM

Day 26 and noticing appreciable differences each day. Use my inhaler less and have a larger lung capacity for sure. Also can already smell SO much better, even WITH the allergies I have.

NYCLifer 06-30-2020 02:57 AM

Had 26 hours but got frustrated with my insomnia and procrastination so I smoked. I expected my body and motivation to change right away since I was no longer wasting time smoking two packs in 24 hours.

wiscsober 06-30-2020 10:50 AM

checking in day 1:thinkerg:

Libby06 06-30-2020 07:05 PM

Hi Oglsby, and NYClifer. Its amazing how fast the benefits of not smoking happen! Great job.

Welcome back to quitting again Erratic. I have saved $4500. US in 11 months. That will be almost 20K in 4 years. Wow

Nice to see you back wiscsober. If I can do it, you can do it.

Keep posting, it really helps!
