Hi All!
I have been in a bit of a funk. I'm doing better, but AV has been very cunning. I guess I need to figure out what to do with all this extra time. I need to be honest and let you all know I have had two cigarettes. I did it because I was rebelling against all the positive changes I have made. I'm over it and have moved on. Just glad it was a cig and not a drink. I'm on high alert now. It's very hard to change even if it's for the best...

Get back up on that horse illi. Not sure about you, but in the past when I've quit and then slipped, the cigarette I allow myself in reality is never as good or satisfying as I imagine it will be.
Day 9! Almost double digits! 24 more please....

Good morning Quit Team.
I remember previous broken attempts and my disappointment with smoking my first cigarette, so that nails it, it isn't the satisfaction we get from smoking, it's the highly addictive nicotine and the 1'000s of additives that keep us chained. The good news is that the further we distance ourselves from smoking, the weaker the cravings will become.
Wishing everyone another smoke-free and sober 24 hours!

You guys are doing so well and I will be back on the 4th March. If I can be of any use take a tip from one whose relapsed.........it's fudged. Stinks, mouth feel crap, chesty, broke. Don't do it.
Hey Steely, I'm glad you are going to stick with you quit date and aren't going to let your AV ride out the addiction for months or years! You're a tough cookie, you can do this!
Another 24 smoke free hours for me please!

Good morning Team Quit, I hope all is well with my sober, non-smoking virtual friends. Kittycat, congratulations on 2 weeks sobriety! Steely, I'm holding a seat for you in the non-smoking section. Tufty, I'm holding a seat for you too, so don't be shy, it's not in your nature!
30 smoke-free days for me today! It has been the slowest 30 days of my life. Tip for the day, if you want to live longer, stop smoking - time will slow down!

Hi all. Hope it's ok if I join your party. I actually quit smoking real cigarettes about 3 years ago after a 15 ish year career. I tried one randomly at a party in sept last year and it was absolutely disgusting and just put it out right away. So whilst I still have thoughts about it I definitely think I'm past ever going back to it
BUT as part of quitting I started on e-cigs. And I think they're much better than real cigs but my use now (typical addict) is totally out of control... I use it all day every day and at 16mg nicotine. So whilst I don't have all the tar and other muck, I'm literally permanently dosed on nicotine.
So anyway, with 55 days alcohol free I'm now 2 days off the vape / e-cig. I am using a nicorette mist thing just to take the edge off but so far it's pretty horrible as I'm missing the nicotine and habit of vaping everywhere. Irritable and really tired! All part of the fun I guess. Good luck to everyone...!

Hello everyone. I'd like to join if you don't mind. A couple of familiar "faces" here.
I am 32 days sober and 30 hours smoke-free! SR has helped me with stop drinking, so why not the ciggies? I did crave badly last night but luckily my husband bought menthols! He said he'll keep buying them so I won't want one.
Let's do this!
24 hours please.

Welcome Mav and Sandy, misery loves company so I hope you'll stick around for awhile. No, just kidding, it does get easier and the benefits just keep getting better. I've mentioned a free app you can download from Smoke Free before, and I find it very useful as an incentive to push through cravings.

Haha, even when I smoked, I wouldn't smoke at work or on my breaks so when I had to go to conferences, it was torture because I wouldn't smoke for 3 days. I couldn't wait to leave just so I could go home and smoke. As with drinking, I am so happy to not have my life planned around my addictions.
Saw a video of an ecig exploding in a guy's pants at a gas station checkout. At least a pack of smokes don't do that! Pro: less bad stuff Con: may explode and burn off pants. Let's just steer clear of both, shall we?
