What I Don't Miss About Smoking/Dipping

  • paying for it
  • having to find a place to spit
  • finding a place to smoke
  • getting ashes on my clothes
  • smelling like a butt
  • smelling like wintergreen puke (how my wife describes skoal)
  • having yellow walls in the bathroom where I smoked (vent on ceiling)
  • having less time to get ready in the morning due to smoke breaks
  • less coughing already
  • burnt, sore, leathery gums
  • feeling kinda dumb for doing such a deadly activity...AND PAYING FOR IT
  • wondering if the new spot on my tongue/gums is cancer
  • having my kids see me succumb to the addiction

These are the ones I can think of now.

my addition to "things I don't miss from smoking":
smelling smoke on my fingers
yellow fingernails, fingertips
cigarette hangovers in the morning after a night of partying and over-smoking
cleaning the ashes out of my car. my back seat was always covered!
knowing that others can smell that I just smoked
losing quality time with friends and loved ones because I have to go outside and smoke
tobacco flakes at the bottom of my purse, in my car, in my lip balm
burning my hair with a lighter or cigarette in the wind
bad aftertaste of smoke mixed with booze when drinking
freezing my ass off in Colorado winters getting blasted in the face with snow
feeling bad about littering with my cigarette butts

It gets down in the zeros here in the winter a lot. I dont know how I missed that one; its a good one.

Also, being out in the heat in the summer time with the flies and mosquitos.

Awesome klopper, I loved these reminders. I was a chewer, so I'll add:

* Watching one of my kids taking a drink from the cup I was spitting into.
* Drinking from my beer glass or vodka cup after I'd spit in it.
* Finding a moldy disgusting spit cup somewhere in the house.

And last but definitely the worst part as far as I'm concerned.....

Hiding, lying, and doing whatever I could to hide it from my spouse since I'd promised her when our kids were born that I'd quit. She knew I was lying most of the time anyway. We're not married anymore. She got tired of the lies.
