Going to the ER
Well, I have been fighting this headache daily for almost 2 weeks now. I have tried IBU 800 mg. Excedrine Migraine (which helped a little) Vicodin...... and although these things have helped me for maybe an hour at a time or lessoned the pain to a more tolerable level, I cant take it anymore. I was avoiding going because I know they are going to give me a shot of something pretty strong, but if I dont, I am going to drink. I have got to find something to kill this pain! I got sober 6/11/06 and have had a slip since then that wasnt "too severe" could the headache be related to all of this? I dont know what to do.

When my headaches get that bad, I always ask for a shot. That way I can't take pills home with me and abuse them.
Good for you for recognizing this possible trigger and catching it!

I know what you're going through! I get horrible headaches too sometimes they just seem to never end. I think it would be a great idea to go talk to a doctor. Take care of you sweetie!

AllWell, I just now got back. It was definately a migraine. Damn thing lasted for almost 2 weeks and thats what threw me. Anyhoo, I am MUCH better now. The ER doc was fantastic, he gave me a NON Narcotic med through an I.V. and then a prescription for 20 pills if I need them. I was soooo excited when he told me they were non narcotic! Evidently, this is a newer drug that will only work if you indeed have a migraine. It wont work on other types of headaches!!!! This is so awesome!!! Hubby stayed with me, and about 20 minutes after I got the meds, I was buzzing the nurse wanting to go home, Hubby told the doc. it was the first time in 2 weeks that he has seen me smile! I am going to take it easy and get some sleep, I have a ton to get done, Im giving my daughter her baby shower Sunday and I have basically been useless till now! Thanks again all!!!!!

I can totaly smypatihize with the migranes, i get them aswell, for 2 days is the longest thankfully.and have done for a few yrs but they are getting worse
I went to see my Dr, and he gave me a new drug, just for migranes...!
They work aswell.,?...he did say there was a new med for migraines but its expensive, even here...you have to take 2 tablets at the beginning of an attack, and 1 every hour for 5 hours if needed...!
You can still feel tension in your head but no pounding...It still feels like someones poking me in the eye though. but no major pain..!
