Morning! Even though my birth parents are not alcoholic, actually yes, I do relate to some of that. But I am an alcoholic. Didn't use to think so...not until someone in AA asked me not how much did I drink, but what happens when I do. Honest answer to that is that if I have one, I won't, don't, can't, stop there, I must have more.
I tried Alanon years ago thinking it was everyone else in my life...I didn't make good choices in friends, lovers, etc...swore off the drink / drug...worked for about a year...after all, I didn't have a problem, everyone else did. I decided to have a glass of wine to go with my dinner one night and...well...now I work the steps and I don't swear off drinking/drugging...I may drink / use again someday...BUT NOT TODAY!

Good morning Zoro...hope today finds you well!
Wow...I never thought of my experience in Alanon that way, but now that you mention it, I believe you're right! All things serve a purpose...
