New Comers... add a lot to this site and to recovery in general

I remember when I first attended meetings, I was so uncertain that anything I could contribute would be worthwhile or of any value to others. I felt like a mess. Fortunately, despite my fears, I am also assertive and when asked to talk, despite my insecurities, I would say what was on my mind.

I now know why the people with "seniority" greatly appreciated my words and those of other new comers. They reminded us of how bad it was to be using, how difficult the struggle to get sober was and brought a sense of newness and freshness to everything they touched.

To all new comers to this site, you are welcome and your input is greatly appreciated by all. Thank you.

Levi

That is absolutely true Levi!

It keeps things very real to read Newcomer's posts and struggles they are going through. Alcohol causes so many problems in life and the Newcomers are in the midst of trying to find a way out of the grips of addiction.

We are all on this journey together.

SO true, and it helps the veterans to help the newbies, so it's a win-win situation!! (When do we 'newbies' become veterans, anyways?!)
