Sobriety as power?
I realized today that by remaining sober, I will actually control things in my life and I won't have the fear and shame that has been holding me back. That is an awesome thought! Being out of control wasn't really getting me where I should be going.

I thought that alcohol would help me control my life. I thought it would help me to sleep so that I could function at work and handle my teenagers. Well, initially it did, but of course before I could blink, I was out of control.
You are so right about being sober. It is awesome and empowering. I am at a place in my life where I NEVER dreamed I could be!

Congratulations on your epiphany
so much more is possible when alcohol is not skewing reality and altering your decision making. Gone also is the ability for others to stigmatize you for your use. Keep striving for your best. Peace to you.
