Sounds like a great workout. Carrot cake, cheese cake, then ice cream. I'd work out my elbow, bending it so my fork could meet my mouth. I have my homegroup meeting tongiht. I think I'm going to have swing by the store and pick up a carrot cake first. Mmmmm...

Funny you should mention that.....my dad was supposed to bring carrot cake when he came over for dinner tonight, but he forgot it, dang-it. I made a fabulous meal of bbq pork ribs (my first time), roasted sweet potatoes with garlic and lime, marinated cucumbers and onions, and a home-made pico de gallo (tomatoes, cilantro, and onion with a bit of oil and vinegar.) It was all very good, except the dry rub I used for the ribs was a bit too salty, or I used too much. Oh well. It was a store-bought rub. Next time I will make it myself. It felt good to do some real cooking. It's been a while....

There are now too many posts for me to respond to each one so I am just checking in. Love you all and can't wait to see this thread reach the same numbers as the old one!!

You know what, I didn't make it to the store to buy carrot cake. I thought I really didn't need it and I got really rational all of a sudden. God only knows why now? When I got there, lo and behold one of my homegroup members brought in a fresh baked banana nut bread. That will do in a pinch. You betcha. The lord works in a mysterious way. Hee...

Oh lordy.....we often talk about making changes here, well this is funny...I think.

Unexpected change.....I went to bed with medium brown hair, and of course the white strip down the middle...I'm soooooo GREY waaaaa...lol.

Anyway today was the badly in need of a dye job day...so I did it and while I was I sorta thought the colour looked a bit different, then figured it was because the sun was shining on my hair, got the job done and looked at it, hmmmm it looks sorta red...eeeee gads...gets the box out of the garbage looking for the number 5, yeah my colour and what do I see? number 45....uh oh...here I sit with a towel wrapped around my head wondering if I'm ready for this new CHANGE....haha ....off I go to take a looksy...welcoming my new look

DENISE!!! I am so happy to see you! DQ misses you when you are not logging on here. Every day sober is a celebration for us I think, and that you had almost a year, and now 4 more days is terrific.

Vic, I am always glad to see you posting, and keeping up the list. One of the bad things about staying sober is how busy one gets, but I always look first at DQ for my dearest friends ,

Thanks Gianna and Ash! Yep it is so good to be sober AND clean today. Another busy day ahead it looks like which is alway good (keeps my mind occupied), plus fringe benifits. OK here goes another day. If you like what you're getting keep doing what you're doing! If you don't like what you're getting, keep doing what you're doing, and you will keep getting what you're getting. Today I like what I am getting, so I am going to keep doing what I'm doing.
