Happy Mother's Day right back at ya!!! Hope you had a good one!

(((Kevin))) I often have the Monday morning blues. Tomorrow, however, I have the day off!!! Big time yay!

2dayzmuse 05-14-2006 07:39 PM

What a strange Mother's day. I spent the day alone. It really wasn't as bad as it sounds. Yesterday my sister's and I spent the day over at my Mother's helping her move. She must be out of her house in June and we were helping her move furniture and heavy items into storage. My son came over to help, so in a sense, we had our Mother's day yesterday.

My daughter is being a very large pill and continues to act like a unreasonable teen. I tried to call her several days in a row and she failed to return my calls. In return, she missed out on our family day. She called me at 9:00 PM last night wanting to know what we planned for today, nothing. We had no plans for today. She was snotty and typical and ended up spewing Happy Mother's day sarcastically and hanging up. She didn't like my line of questioning of her bad behavior I have been hearing about, so that was her way of dealing with it. Children are a blessed thing. I hope she snaps out of her mode soon. She has a long was to go to get past her rebellion, defiance and poor choices.

I enjoyed the day relaxing and getting some necessary errands done. I had an opportunity to go to dinner with friends, but preferred staying at home and relaxing. I don't know if I am isolating or if it is warranted. I'm a little sore from the heavy lifting yesterday. I say it was a well deserved day of relaxation. Tomorrow is another day...not quitting.

2dayz, sorry about your daughter...but it sounds like you are handling it really well, she is so lucky to have you...but of course she'll only realise this in her twenties as most of us daughters do! :)

Welcome to the bus ((Cathy)) Glad you are here.

((LeAnne)) Sounds like relaxation was well deserved!! UGH to teens!!

((Kevin)) Glad you are feeling better.

Saturday, I was wondering if Mother's Day meant I was suppose to spend the day with my kids, or if I got the day off!! They were much better on Sunday and we had a nice day.

We got patio furniture for Mother's Day/ Our 7th Wedding Anniversary. Too cold and rainy yet to use it. Can't believe he has put up with me for 7 years. LOL

Have a great 24 ((All))
Missy

Wow! I missed out on all the excitement. I didn't go into work today. I have been feeling lousy, constantly tired. Can't put my finger on it. I need to have some blood work done, but haven't met my deductible on my insurance yet. I can't see, but can't afford the glasses. I need to go to the dentist, but can't afford it. It sucks to be old and broke. That is a whole other story.

Back to work...I didn't go in and the phone rings. Where are the phone numbers to call the head of the college? I ask what is going on? It seems an offender wigs out. Pulls out a shank and tries to stab a targeted inmate. The fella manages to lock himself safely into his cell. The crazed inmate then starts stabbing random guys in the day room. It got bloody and ugly. The guy finally gets hold of himself and realizes what he is doing, throws done the shank and puts his hands behind his back waiting to be cuffed up. There were no assaults on staff members, but there were some serious injuries to offenders. The whole institution in on lock down. They had to get an ambulance into the facility to take out the victims. This is a major ordeal to get past security and go through all of the rigmarole.

Long story short, I guess I picked a good day to stay home. These guys may be convicted felons, rapists, and murders, but in an incidence such as this, they are innocent victims. I'm not sure what I will walk into tomorrow at work. The worst will be over, but there are always repercussions to follow. I feel bad. My boss is out of the office and I was left in charge and wasn't there when it happened. Well who knew? I'm sure they have it all under control. I guess it was just another day at the office. Never a dull moment.

Nina Kay 05-16-2006 08:20 PM

Never a dull moment, indeed, but we're still not quitting. Right?!

2dayzmuse 05-16-2006 08:21 PM
