Happy Easter to All
I've been thinking about what Easter means to me more this year than any other
prior to it. Probably, it's because by the grace of God I am sober today. His only Son was crucified and rose from the dead. He died so that we may live.
To me, his Resurrection symbolizes the beginning of a new life. And as a wayward wretched drunk, I too was resurrected in a sense and given life again.
I was dead spiritually, mentally, and pretty close to physically. It was only through the divine intervention of the Holy Trinity that I was able to rise again. For that, I am truly thankful.
So Have a great Easter everyone, and may God look out for your recovery.

Amen! God worked in my life when I didnt even asked him to. He made my fingers google hydrocodone one day out of the blue. I had no reason to. I had taken it for 10 yrs. But he pushed me until I did. Thats how I found out I was an addict. No different from anyone else, be it a bum on the street or a prissy upper-class housewife... I was an addict.
I prayed alot and flushed all of my meds. Pretty sure I died a few times but he promised not to forsake me in my darkest hour and he didnt. Im still here. And Im 90 days clean today, amen.

Happy Easter, all. And thanks, Irish. I, too, have reflected on what Easter means to me. I am reminded to strive to live my life with a spirit of love, tolerance, kindness, and compassion. I also get to eat lots of chocolate!!! Yum.

This day has been so special to me. I am so glad that Jesus rose and set us all free.
