what are the best things about not drinking
Great lists and as Chy says get into it and grab sobriety with both hands.
I do not miss:
Being locked up
Choking hangovers
Paralyzing fear
Lying
being without any human company
Insanity and Anger
I am enjoying:
My Mornings they are the best part of these lovely days
My growing list of Phone No's and people I know, I have visitors these days!
Work
Family
Being so free
Choices
Possibilites
AA Meetings
and my evolving connection with my HP as I get clearer and clearer.
I wish you success and sobriety.
Love Kevin

I have only been not drinking for a few days (last thursday when I broke my foot) and it's damn nice to have an excuse NOT to get booze instead of an excuse to get it. It's nice to be able to wake up in the morning and have more patience with my kids. It's nice to not have to rush out the door to work, because I have more time, instead of sleeping in until the last possible minute and then freaking until we get out of the house.. Nice to make meetings at work in the morning and actually listen instead of just wishing I was not there. Nice to spend more time at night with the kids instead of hiding in my bedroom drinking playing on the computer while they tear apart the house, while I say every five minutues "I'll be RIGHT THERE" .. It's nice to want to do things with the kids (like baking and art) instead of promising "We'll do it tmw" and tmw never comes. It's been pretty nice.
