I never thought
 

I would have never imagined years ago that I would be addicted to drugs and alcohol. If someone would have told me that, I would have thought they were crazy. Something that was supposed to be a summer of fun and freedom (until the addiction hit) bought a one-way ticket to a personal hell that is only identified with by those who have been there.

I used to see other addicts and though if I was careful, I could avoid addiction. I didn't think it could happen to me. But it happens and it happened to me.

I wouldn't trade my experiences, even the painful ones, because it has strengthened me as a person.

I can feel you that is for sure. I just told them at a meeting that I wouldn't trade how I am feeling today for all of the clean time even that I had before. It is so hard to say what has happened, I don't know, all I do know is that I am running with it and I am in total awe from it. Glad your a part of my life.
