is this a drinking problem?

hi. My name is Ella and i am 16 years old. Ive had obsessive compulsive disorder and depression neally my whole life. When i was about 14 or 15, i started drinking really heavily! I also started taking prescription pills while i drank, i took up to 7 at one time. I use to drink so much that i got agressive, blacked out or throw up and i drank neally every weekend. I was so depressed and thats all i could do to release my pain.
I use to get into trouble and eventully i was raped and everyone turned against me. I stopped drinking for about 3 months but am now back on it. I feel as if i cant live without it and crave every weekend so i can get smashed! I even think about cutting class to drink and sometimes drink by myself. I drink mainly spirits but also wine. Im unsure if this is a drinking problem or not...please if anyone can offer me some advice, i would really appreciate it! thanks!

Hi, ella,
Drinking is a problem for you, but it sounds to me as though you're using drinking to try to cope with other problems. Have you seen a counselor and talked honestly about your drinking?

I believe it is definitely a problem. Whether or not you are an alcoholic is for you to decide.

You are only 16 and you have your whole life ahead of you. Don't get to the point where you crave it first thing in the morning. There's hope. get some sort of help whether it is AA or another support group.

((((((((( Ella))))))))) welcome to SR

Your post really touches my heart , please go to a Doctor, a counselor, or a trusted adult friend , and get help! As don has said, you do appear to be dealing with problems other than Alcohol, and you need help, my dear, you should not be facing this problem on your own.

i know that someone here has a link to sober teens, which may help, I am sure they will be along soon to help.

In the meantime keep posting here , and let us get to know you

I was like you and I didn't get help. When I was 16, I was put in a program after getting an underage drinking charge but just went through the program without taking it seriously. Now im 22 and can't seem to finish college because of drinking. I feel like I have lost the best years of my life. I just binge drink on weekends but after doing it so much it really takes a toll on your mind and body. Talk to someone about this but be careful who. If you have a hard time telling them what you feel. then print this post and show what you wrote here. I have done that and it is easier than telling them.
