Worried

I am posting again, I have pretty much been drinking for almost two weeks straight. Im afraid to stop as I have read it can be dangerous to do on your own. We have no insurance and I have no idea where I would even go to be honest. I have to stop, its killing me and hurting my wife. Any advise would be great...

I don't think that you really have to worry about the doctor thing OMG I came from a 3,000 dollar a week addiction to nothing, no treatment, no institution, I went to AA and NA and here at SR. If I can do this so can anyone trust me I not only dug my hole I started to cover it up also. I think today I might just be able to get my hand back on that shovel to start the process of digging myself out but here it is almost 9 months later also.. this is a process not an event. I am sending good thoughts your way.

Love Vic

Searching.....please go over to the forum Alcoholism.

Look at the sticky...
"Quitting what to expect"

Some of those tips will help you and some will not.

I did not use a medical detox either.
I had no insurance or money.
I did have a friend who assisted me.

You can always goto am ER if necessary.

Blessings...

Detox from alcohol can be dangerous if you're a long term user...
Don't know about a two week binge.
Shakes, hallucinations & seizures and outta control BP as well as death can all be results of going cold turkey detox without being in a medically supervised environment. It's best done in a monitored environment. They will take you even though you don't have any insurance.
Good luck & God Bless...
Keep comming back!

Thumbs up

Oh yeah, sounds like the time is right for you to quit killing yourself and your wife with alcohol addiction...

Emergency rooms will help you with detox from alcohol... Have you checked out if your area has free county detox programs?
