hey guys im back well i thought i had it all kicked. back with my family and all is well. then i start lieing and drinking again. i think ive finally really hit rock bottom. its the worst feeling in the world. i went to a detox clinic in Nov. and i just feel helpless. i drink and drive and now i even puke on myself while im driving. it was kinda a wake up call because it started becoming the norm. just need someone to talk to |
Welcome Back Closer, The drinking story is the same with different players. I hope meetings and sponsorship is in your plan of recovery. Most people need to fill the drinking time with recovery time, what a great place in AA. The good news is you dont need to quite forever, just for today. Its all about the first drink. I wish you well millions of people have recovered from alcoholism in the rooms of AA, I hope you will be the next. Cheers, ~GB |
thank you geenbug. |
Last night at a meeting, I saw a girl whom I haven't seen in more than two years. Honestly, I thought she'd died. Found out she'd been in state prison for a year and a half after doing what she called "research." I asked her if her "research" had taught her anything. She said, yeah, it doesn't get any better and it does get a whole lot worse, but she was glad she made it back. I told her good - it's always a good thing to make it back. So many don't. You made it back, closer. Is it enough? Is the pain of using greater than the pain of getting sober? You're not alone - there's lots of help. Are you willing to accept it? Praying for you. Peace & Love, Sugah |
Hi Closer, Welcome back! It's not a question of thinking we 'have it all kicked', it's working on staying sober every single day. It's ongoing and it can't be neglected. I'm glad you're back and sober. |
that brought a tear to my eye. im getting very emotional nowadays. i sure hope so sugah. |
As long as you have some hope mixed in with those tears, closer, you'll be okay. We don't have to live that way anymore. Peace & Love, Sugah |
Good to see you again! :18: AA is where I found out how to quit and stay quit. |

Welcome Back... As a matter of fact I have never met or heard of anyone who fell into the hellish depths of alcohol got sober and then was able to drink like a normie.. I think it is fair to say that is indeed rare. |
