is this a relapse?

today at work I had to use a magic marker to cover up the worn areas on the selves and the fumes kinda made me high. I am a alchoholic, was never really involved in other drugs. I am just a little worried that i relapsed. This might be a stupid question but I dont know. I tried to get hold of my sponsor and left a voice message with him but he hasnt called me back. I just want to make sure is all. oh the affects only lasted 5 or 10 minutes. I am fine now.

Unless you intentionally were sniffing the magic marker
I think it is safe to say that you did NOT have relapse....

I agree with KelKel, and sheryl, if you intentionally sniffed away, then I woud say it was a relapse. Did that short high make you want to drink?

Rest easy...it was not a relapse. It wasn't planned...you didn't continue sniffing once you realized the way it affected you...and, you tried to contact your sponsor for confirmation. When you couldn't, you did the next best thing and reached out to the folks at SR. You've done well...give yourself a little pat on the back!!!

Not a relapse.
If you took the marker home and stuck it in your nose all night, its a relapse.

No, you're cool, but good of you to report it. I once took a capful of Nyquil (alcohol 10%) AFTER reading the durn label. Spit it all right out as soon as I tasted it, but reported it anyway. No chip. No harm.

Have super day.

No relapse question is silly

Good morning cath,
Its absolutely not a stupid question. Its actually kind of cute. As a recovering addict/alcoholic, you can never be to careful. I never thought I would be forbidden to use mouthwash, but those are the rules. I now use alcohol free mouthwash. Have Wonderful Holidays!!!! AND STAY AWAY FROM THOSE MAGIC MARKERS!!!(HA HA)
