Join Me In A MOMENT OF Silence
Join Me In A MOMENT OF Silence
Would everyone please join me in a moment of silence for the still suffering alcoholic/addict/co-dependent/etc/etc followed by the WE version of the serenity Prayer........
GOD
Grant US the Serenity...To accept the things WE can not change....The courage to change the things WE can (I always say The courage to change the things that need changing) and the Wisdom to know the difference...
AMEN
God be with those who are still suffering and keep your angels wrapped around them, protect them, and PLEASE send a messenger there way to let them know there is a different way to live..
Love Vic

God again today be with those who are hopeless, helpless, and homeless. I was once there but you have given me life again. I pray for those who are in need and I pray for those who just need a little nudge. I pray that you will wrap you arms around us all as we go through this day. Please allow me to step back today, and you step forward and keep us all safe as we go through our journey today. Thanks
AMEN

I hope everyone in this thread is hitting outside meetings
My SR forum has never made a sound, how much more silent should it get
Oh the drama is making me sick. First thing I read this morning to.

It's always nice to pause during my day and pray!!
Thanks Vic (and Greenbug) for another reminder.
lol
Yeah I am so used to the forum making "noise" the moment of silence woke me up! Then the only football game I have to watch is the forty niners, and Tennessee - the day is not starting off good, I better go workout that always helps.
I got an idea, lets all hold hands and sing cume-by-ah
I always share a moment of silence when I am in my home group, or when I meditate.
I think its absolutely hillarious sharing a moment a silence on a forum. Like I said I hope people dont try and substitute this forum for an f2f meeting.

There but for the grace of my HP go I......remembering those who are now where we once were and where we could be again if we stop working our program is not, in my humble opinion, ever a negative thing. To each his own.

Saying a prayer is always good no matter where you are or what you are doing!
I also agree that a f2f meeting is better, but sometimes posting in a forum is the best someone can do at the moment.

nevermind me, I just think its silly.
Sharing a moment on a forum that everyone will see at a different time, which moment exactly are we sharing? I know its the idea - If you say so.
The spirituality of holding hands at the end of a meeting and remember those still suffering is an very humbling/grateful experience, this falls a little short in my mind.
SR has never been a big part of my recovery, I am a big proponent of the f2f meetings, someone just now thinking about recovery and finds SR should know it does not stop here. This is just a step, a program of action is required.
Being a dope fiend, I can see me just trying the SR way to see if it works.
"the easier, softer way"
To each there own.
Peace
