Pat on the back...
Pat on the back...
Tomorrow will be 8 weeks for me. I am still thrilled with my sobriety. I've been reading an AA book. Keeping my mind busy. I attended a AA meeting online. Not to say that AA is the only way but I believe it can't hurt! LOL
Congratulations!
AA sure did not hurt me, in fact it helped me to get some sober days under my belt and helps me stay that way... one day at a time.
And being drunk did not "help me" at all.

no doubt!

No doubt! So far, SR and the people here have helped me more than anything ever could have. The support here is just awesome! AA will help me also. I think everything will help but you have to be ready for it.

8 Weeks is FANTASTIC!!!
The first day I came to this site I loved your quote, I put it on my desktop as a reminder, it really had meaning for me.
One reason I don't drink is that I want to know when I am having a good time. ~Lady Astor
THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION

This is what I am talking about. You guys are great! I know that I have a long way to go but feel really good about how far I've come.
Ash, I am glad you liked my quote and yeah it hit pretty close to the heart of things for me too! I had too many blackouts to remember (get it?)
Hope, thanks for making the journey with me!
HUGS to everyone! I am so grateful to have you all in my life.

Oh, yea, I get it with the blackouts, sad to say....
But then there was also the thinking one was having a good time when NOT
Oh yea, and then the added burden of making sure everyone else was
not having a good time
Getting sober seemed like such work, but geez, piece of cake compared to the drunken nightmare
Way to go on the 8 weeks, your doing GREAT!!!!
