Hi, my name is matt...
and im an alcoholic and a drug addict. I have currently 2 weeks clean and sober. I went to my new saturday night aa meeting tonight, had a great time and i was randomly rummaging the internet about recovery (the aa and na website, other addictions and stuff etc...) and i ran across this site. I am currently involved in a IOP program 2 days a week which involves a 1 on 1 counseling session which has helped me a lot. Thank you to whoever made this forum, i believe i can make this a wonderful asset to my recovery. I am also addicted to chewing tobacco and i noticed you have a nicotine forum, so i may check that out eventually, thats something i've always had on the back of my mind. But im glad to be here and glad to be sober, it's a great way to live. 2 weeks clean and sober may not be much to some of you guys, but for me, it's a huge milestone. I've avoided drinking and drugs in some tough situations, but im not taking any credit for it. All the credit for that goes to my higher power whom i know on a first name basis as god. Im gonna live for today take 'er easy.

hey Matt!
I only recently joined SR after lurking for a couple of months ... have not shopped around much but I doubt you would find a better healing team elsewhere on the internet
best wishes for a healthy and cool life,
Kevin

Welcome to SR. Do you want to start a new thread? Go to the main Newcomers board and click the New Thread button in the top left corner. It's pretty quiet here at the mo, but I'm sure there'll be others along to welcome you soon.

Hello all and thank you for the warm welcome. Today is a good day. Things don't seem to be going my way, but i dont have to drink over it anymore. I have found a great fellowship and all my thoughts are on not drinking and drugging today. Thank you all for being here.
