I am feeling better, but I'm still getting used to sobriety. There have been some "awkward" times and times when I take things hour by hour. I still have the cravings and urges. I was invited to a party which I cannot go to......just because I'm scared of relapse. Earlier this evening, I caught myself treating my soda water like a beer........ Soda water is my new beverage of choice.
Actually, on a funny note, I was joking with my wife about soda water. I was saying sentences which I've actually said before about beer, but substituting "soda water" in the sentence instead of "beer". For example..."This 24 of soda water is going to run out by tommorow, I'd better run out and get a 12. That way, I'll get them good and cold for tomorow afternoon, and we won't run out before I drive to work". Or "I'm going to make sure I don't drink another 5 or 6 soda waters because I've got some stuff to do tommorow morning. I'll have 2 or 3 more soda waters, and then I'll go to bed.".....
I'm happy about 3 weeks, but every 24 hours is a major victory.

Thanks folks. The soda water thing is a bit funny, however, I wouldn't try and drink as much of it as I would beer. I can't imagine knocking off a 6 pack of soda water while watching a movie, or "relaxing" after work.
I hope I can continue to remain sober for another 24.... Couldn't do it without God, AA, Sr, and a sincere desire to remain sober. I'll check in on you fine people a bit later tonight.....
