Thank you!,
I spent years in therapy for other reasons. Found a good one and got better. Nightmare years later, this year I was recommended thru my Dr. to someone. I went
4 or 5 times, I am a "huggy" type of person. He made me feel so good after this last session, I went to give him a quick hug of thanks.. He went rigid! I never went back. That hurt me too badly.
I do not have insurance any more. I have a disability but, SSI won't help me because I chose to stay at home and raise my children. I do not have enough "points" to be considered. Basically I would have to divorce my husband to get help. I'm married 17 years... I can't shop for counslers. And I am to the piont that leaving my house is agony.

For starters, read a bit here. Look over the stick posts at the top of the forums...Friends and family and the Nar Anon board.
I think you will find some answers among the sticky posts.
A proper working group from AA would give you some great support and info as well. thing is though... you may need try more then one group as by chance, a group you may try, may not be working AA correctly when you visit.
Many churches have their own for of recovery and support groups as well.

What is a "sticky" post? I'm trying to get into the chats but cannot. My username and or password is invalid. I'm about to give up on this site. I just built for myself a VERY fast, 100+gig, computer. Yet, here I can't even enter a chat room.?

When you go to the main page under a board heading...such as friends and family of...
the posts located at the top will say sticky beside them. They are stuck at the top for easy use.
As far as getting into chat... You would need register for the chat. Connected to here but a different sign in door. You could use the same screen name and password as here. just need to register them in the chat program is all.
Chat doesn't have people there most times, but for meetings.
I can't get there from here myself. Work computer and a firewall stop me.

To clear the mailbox of PMs, you need click the little box beside each PM you want to remove, then scroll down and change the little window at the bottom, so it says delete. Go back to the top and the little window that says inbox...change it to sent messages and repeat for clearing that side of the mail box.

((((((((Dana)))))))) I am a little bit late, but I wanted to add my welcome. Try to be patient with yourself. If you can build a computer, you can figure out this website. It is worth it, I assure you. Please don't give up on us. There is an unbelieveable amount of support here for you, if only you ask for it.
BTW--My name is Laura and I am an alcholic (who smoked a lot of pot, too.) I am glad you found us. Try to remember to take life one day at a time. That is all any of us can do.
Hang in there, hon'.
Hugs--
