Hi
My name is mandy, I'm 24 and I'm a drug addict and an alcoholic. I have been this way since I was 14 years old. I use cocain pills and any alcohol I can get my hands on. I am 2 days sober and it's so hard. I have tryed to quit so many times only to relapse into worse shape than I was to begin with. The last time I used something came over me...was a strong pain of guilt and shame. Although I have felt these feelings with everytime I use, it was much different this time. I really cannot put it into words. It was spirtual in a way. So I have decided to give the sober life another go. I'm looking forward in getting to know you all.
Sorry for the long introduction
Mandy.

Hi Mandy and welcome. The best thing you could do for yourself is get into a program.
With only 2 days the idea of a detox/rehab is maybe a good idea. NA and/or AA meetings are definitely a plus to help you get and stay sober. Almost anyone with any experience in this field will tell you that after yrs of using your brain will be toxic for a long, long time. You won't be making good decisions and will need direction. A sponsor will help you in making decisions. 2 days sober is better than 1 day sober. Keep it up and pretty soon you'll be saying 2 weeks, then 2 months sober. I wish you well.
God bless

WElcome to SR, Mandy!!!
Glad you found us. Head on over to the alcoholism or AA forums, and the NA and substance abuse forums. There you'll find "stickys" on the tops of those forums. There is much important information for you -- including one titled What to Expect. I think you'll find them all very helpful on your journey.
Hope to see you here often as we both grow in our recovery.
Shalom!

Welcome to SR. We are all here for the same reason. Our primary purpose is to stay sober/clean and help another acoholic/addict achieve sobriety. You are one of us and are worth it. Keep posting. This site is a homebase for me and I love it. Get active in a program of choice and stay clean and sober. It will be the best thing you ever did.
Welcome to SR. I am so happy to hear that your senses are giving you a strong message at such a young age. There is so much living ahead of you that will be so much better sober and without pills and cocaine. It is hard, but it is also worth the effort. Keep posting on your progress. You can do it!

Just wanted to get in here myself and tell you WELCOME to SR and we are very glad that you have found us, there are only two things you need to worry about right now in early sobriety at least this is my experience, strength, and hope. Don't drink or use, and go to meetings, the rest will fall into place.

Hey Mandy--Glad you are here. I hope you will post some more and let us get to know you. Remember, everyday an addict/alcoholic doesn't use is a miracle. YOU are a miracle. Hang in there....
