Almost caved

I have felt easily at edge since i have stopped drinking. Tonight my mother completely pushed me over the edge. I almost exploded and felt like a shot from our liquor cabinet but then i took a few deep breaths and told myself how far i've come even through it's only been four days. I just had to vent but now i feel a lot better that i didn't take that drink.

Every time you choose not to.. it helps make you stronger for next time...

and yes.. it feels good to vent... !

.. git rid of those resentments... ;o)

Thank you for sharing your choice for life..
Blessings on ya Kerry...
and ahhh.. are you guy or gal...?

Sweet! It's gonna feel even better tomorrow when you'll be able to look back and realize how little drinking would have helped the problem...

... and when I say 'little', I mean zero.

I am happy that you made that great decision! You will be so thankful that you did the right thing.

Congratulations on making the right choice. This is only my fifth night sober, so I'm right there with you, but I've noticed that every time I pass up an opporitunity to take a drink, its easier than the time before it.

Congratulations on the right decision! You know it was.

Just don't drink, no matter what. Period.

There is no situation so bad that a drink won't make it worse.

I've been sober over 16 years. Remember, I'm pulling for you. We're all in this together.

I know this is a little off topic, but I LOVE the Red Green Show. And since you're Canadian, I'm guessing that's where this came from.

Seriously though, we are all in this together. You're not the only one craving alcohol who has to be stronger than the cravings to make your life happier. Its encouraging to those of us who are still having the cravings to see that someone else can make it through them. Makes us think that if you can, we should be able to as well.

Yep, I cut it out with a razor blade. I've been skateboarding since I was 6, and I had seen some people cut peices of their grip tape and lay them in a pattern, but I knew I could do something to raise that to the level of an art form, so I took out my razor blades and started cutting. They're all one solid piece of grip tape, nothing to piece together.

If I had a liquor cabinet there is no way I wouldn't have a drink.:0
