Toot Toot! I have 6 months today!

7 months ago, I would have not thought it possible. I have not been sober for 6 months in over 20 years. Thanks to everyone here for your inspiration and support. Here's to the next 24.....

That's wonderful! Congratulations! I know how you feel. Every new day sober, I look upon as a miracle. I thought it couldn't be done, not for this drunk. Thank God I was wrong.

I came across a thread you started I think a year ago = and look at you now! 6 months! It's only when I read the thread I noticed that it had descended into some negativity...but the point was it illustrates how you were searching for a solution not that long ago, and now you have 6 months, happily, sober!

How did you do it?

Did you go with AA or another solution?

Well done again! And good for you!

Thanks Cathy - not sure what thread you are referring to, but yeah AA is a huge part of my recovery. I was very lucky to find a great group that made me feel welcome from the very start. I have a sponsor who has 25 years of sobriety and is a great role model. Being around sober people and learning how to live sober have been really important for me. I struggled early on with looking too far ahead regarding not drinking - now I honestly only concentrate on today. For today, I will not drink. Not sure when it happened, but it did..

I have had extremely positive changes in my life since I stopped drinking. Thanks for listening!
