Feels Good
I have been working steadily and looking after my money. Not spending any on booze of course and only spending money on food and stuff like that.
Well today I paid my Mortgage, my bills, my monthly amounts for the credit cards and not only do I have money left over but i have plenty more coming in.
No nasty letters and phone calls from teh bank.
It feels really good.
Just wanted to share this with you and thank you all.

Sure does feel good.
Congratulations.
And it feels even better when you send in a final payment on a bill.
3 credit cards down to two. Two down to one, One down to zero. School loan paid off. One day at a time and as for the bills...one payment at a time. Sure does work.
Congratulations.

I can totally relate, Kevin. Even though I was unemployed for six weeks and I am no where near being in the black right now, I am also not so far in the red that it can't be managed. Not only that, I don't feel so guilty asking for help because I know I have been doing the right thing. Glad you are feeling so well!!!

I totally agree!
I too am paid up for this month.
Amd I know how much I can spend on food each week to stretch out my cash.
Living on S.S. is quite a challange!
When I was newly sober...I thought the AA Promises said
"econmonic insecurity will leave us"
and spent accordingly! Wrong!
I finally saw the word fear and cut the indulgences!
The oddest thing...in sobriety I have become poorer and older and more fragile...
And found the true joy and peace I had searched for!

Thanks best, stormy, lulu and Carol. I am a long way from being in the black, but I am managing the resources I have much better and am keeping to my commitments. I just noticed I have a $35 fee because my Mortgage went in late!! Oh well, I will get it right next month.
Friends and colleagues are beginning to trus my word again, although when something really does delay like yesterday and I phone them up and tell them they are skeptical, that hurts a bit, but what can I expect after years of lies and inaction, I will keep to my course of being sober, honest and direct with myself and with everyone else.
Another day sober, thanks to AA, SR, Friends and lovely lovely lovely loving God.
