Time for Recovery -- yeah!

I finally called our local clinic yesterday to ask for help. I missed the call, but have the phone number of a man there who is highly recommended-I'll be calling him later today. I am so happy, I'm finally going to go from full time addiction to an addict in recovery (if that makes sense).

Thank you to my close sister who used some tough love to get me to that point. That took guts, and I know she doesn't like the person she has to know right now...but she cares enough to drive me to my councilor because she likes the person underneath.

Also thank you for having this site so I have friends to share this great news with!

Good for you, Alera! Welcome to SR! Recovery has been the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I've yet to meet someone who has regrets about recovery. It's a new beginning, a chance to start again. NA is now a way of life for me and I'm grateful for my NA family. You'll really enjoy all the wonderful members here at Sober Recovery! They're so loving and knowledgeable. Enjoy your new and improved life, Alera!

Thanks so much. I am really excited. I want to jump up and down on my bed! I wish I could enter detox now but it is much safer for me to wean down first.

I've wanted to be clean for a long time, but until now I haven't been able to do it alone. Now I have the chance to do the inpatient thing and I'm so happy.

That's Great News, Alera! I was in a 30-day Intensive Outpatient program myself. It's very beneficial. For me, it defines the ''willing to go to any lengths'' to achieve sobriety.

Thank you Angel Hugs. A friend sent me here and I'm already feeling better. Got the guts to call my doctors so they all know I have a problem and cancelled any outstanding RX's I may have.

Then my sister called them and chewed one out big time for prescribing for me without keeping in touch! Go sis!!
