I feel guilty

I feel guilty for starting this thread...

I feel ashamed that I'm an alcoholic...

I'm ashamed of what I have done.

I've made it a little over two weeks...but it's sooo hard...

I'm just hanging on minute by minute.

Is anyone else like this?

Minute by minute sometimes is the only way I like to travel

Nothing to be ashamed about starting this thread or being an alcoholic. I'm one. Some of my friends are alcoholics too. We aren't ashamed of ourselves, b/c we are working hard to fix what we broke.

The first month is close enough to remember a lot of white knuckling for sure. There's the guilt and anger and regret as your brain attempts to sort everything out as quickly as possible, when the answers are going to be out of reach for a little while. Just keep hanging on as if for dear life, 'cause it just might be, ok? Believe the rumors, it does get better!

And Two Weeks is awesome!

Nothing to be ashamed of there

Two Weeks is an accomplishment! That's great!!

The first two of anything can be difficult...

Lose the shame. It's bad news. As long as you've decided to Right The Wrongs, guilt and shame can just take a flying leap off a short pier.

We're Glad You're Here!

O my......

you are feeling emotions and they will go round and round for awhile. Then your mind wil settle in balance.

Are you in AA yet?
There is where I learned how to stay sober and enjoy it!

Do not drink today...tomorrow will be easier.

I second what the others have said! I don't feel ashamed but do feel guilty sometimes for the life I have but I'm working on that. They say It'll get better and that's what I'm working for.

Be happy you are an alcoholic, it brought you to this point in your life.

If you weren't an alcoholic, you would not be in this position.

It will make sense one day, I promise!

Suggest you don't try to get sober, and stay sober working only here. Try AA. Something.

It saved my lfe, and countless others. Ask around.
