Let us not forget.......

I'm on day 24, and lately I'm beginning to realize that I'm starting to
forget how bad it was while I was still drinking. Like I'm already starting
to take for grantide how good things are and how good I feel because
the newness of it all it starting to wear off. So I wanted to do a post to
say:

Let us not forget how bad we were hurting ourselves & our loved ones.
Let us not forget how we were committing a slow painfull suicide with
our addictions.
Let us not forget how we how bad we felt in the mornings.
Let us not forget how much money we were spending.
Let us not forget how much of life we missed out on because we
couldn't bring our best friend (addiction). Or too broke.
Let us not forget how much we couldn't remember of the day before.
Let us not forget how bad we wanted to quit and went through
hell that first day, week, month, year, decade(s) to get where we are.
Let us not forget just how bad depression can really be.
Let us NOT forget that we had no self-respect.
Let us not forget how much we lacked in confidence.
Let us not forget how bad we looked, red eye's, puffy face etc...

If I forgot anything, which I'm sure I have, please list it!

I needed to see that today. It is easy to forget so we need reminders of what we need to stay away from.

You helped me tremendously with that post.

thank you, I'm glad it helps you guys too. Last Sunday I wanted to drink really bad, I was almost talking myself into it then I stopped and thought about what I wrote up top. Decided to post it and now I'm glad I did.
