Hi, I am new!

I am new to sober recovery and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Kim and I live in St. Petersburg Florida. I have 38 days clean as of today. My husband of 12 years and I are getting clean together. He has 40 days clean as of today. I hope to get to know you all soon. I know I can use more friends that are in recovery. We go to meetings every day but I am sorta shy so sometimes I have a problem speaking in the meetings. I have made some aquaintences there and have some trustworthy people I can call if I get in trouble but its much easier for me to talk in forums like this or chat rooms.

Glad to be clean!!

Congratulations on 38--well by now 39 days clean. Doesn't it feel good? Keep going to those meetings. Don't worry about being shy. You will eventually get comfortable and you will speak up. Keep posting.

Hi Kim,
Sober in Bradenton, Fl for 18 years. There is a good life to be found in the program. Hope that in these 38 days you have found a sponsor and started working the steps. Please post often and get to as many meetings as you can. Listen to the instructions-the basics.

I am newly sober as well. I have 19 days clean today. I totally identify with what you said about being shy and that its hard for you to speak at meetings. I have that same problem. This seems to be a really supportive place...
