Day 12
(((Lulu))) (((Denise)))
The good news is that I'm starting to feel a little less tired. At one point, I was just falling asleep all over the place. Now I am but doing that, but I'm able to get up and do a little more during the day. Still not able to get lots done, but I feel like I'm on my way.
Half measures availed me nothing so I'm giving this thing all I've got. So much to look forward to! :boat
I'm heading somewhere wonderful!

Today was just a bad day for me. I was so moody and angry at the world today. I'm just glad that it didn't trigger any urges. Fortunately, I realized that using would not solve my problems.
Here I am having to search for both a job and a place to live. It is just so hard. Meanwhile, the guy I care about just left for the summer and I'm struggling with my summer classes.
Can't anything just go right for me for once? I'm just feeling like an angry bunch of nerves tonight. Sorry for the vent, ahhh, at least my head will hit the pillow tonight sober. If being sober is all I did today, then today was a successful day.
Hugs,
C

scared
You know how you have those days that you just have to break down bit by bit instead of the whole 24 hours?
Well, right now I just can't seem to focus on staying sober for 24 hours because it is too overwhelming. I don't know why it hit me that hard when the thought crossed my mind.
Truthfully, I am scared but tomorrow I will have 2 weeks and I don't want to throw that away because I have worked so hard for it.
My strategy: focus on staying sober for an hour at a time. I just might claw my way thru this day.
It seems kind of quiet on the board this morning..........

Hang on Angel!! Just keep telling youself that you are a different person now. You are a person who does not use, so it is not even an option for someone like you!! Just keep drilling that into your head and eventually it will become automatic. Take it an hour at a time, or a minute a time if necessary!! Take care.

Thanks Tyler!!
I'm hanging in there...won't use today (a mantra I keep saying to myself).
There is nothing good in drinking/drugging so why subject myself back into that torture.
But, our minds are pretty good at forgetting the pain and remembering the good. That is why I try to remember how much my last binge hurt me and damaged my soul. I'm still standing..........doing pretty good for 13 days clean and sober.
I'm hungry,, need some pancakes.....lol

MMMMM!!! Sounds good!!
You never have to feel that pain again because you are not that person anymore. You are now a person who doesn't use and deserves the best in life. Remember that!!

I really miss my friend today. He won't be back for a few months. I am glad that we got things right between us before he left. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder.Only time will tell.
He will be back in a few months, but why is it so hard still?

I just feel like giving up.
I know this is probably self-pity, but I am like "why do I have to go thru this struggle
for the rest of my life." Why can't I just be like the "normal" people who do not have
to fight this battle and struggle with this monkey on their backs. They don't have to
worry about being triggers to go use. Is this self-pity or resentment or both?

It does get better, it will not be like this for the rest of your life. Remember, this too shall pass. Feelings come and go and you are feeling bad right now. You will feel bad again, and you will feel good too, that is living life. Take care, have hope.
