One good night
I was going really well until something really good happened in my life which triggered my drinking alcohol night to celerbrate........which I regret because now all I think about is alcohol again.
Its back to day one again..

I had a tough time with celebration and not drinking too... but life is always going to happen and whether it's a celebration or a wake losing your sobriety will always make you feel like poop. Welcome back!
Figuring out how to celebrate and not drink is definately something that everyone with a drinking problem will face eventually. I have never had a problem with alcohol, but it did open my eyes about 3-4 years ago when I decided to stop drinking completely while I overhauled my eating habits and exercise patterns (6-7 months). I realized that when ANYONE had good news, it was always, "let's go out to the bar and grab a beer" or "let's go out to dinner to celebrate"...which included some wine, beers, etc.
Now when I go out with friends, I may have a glass or wine, or maybe a beer with dinner, but I have seperated the alcohol from 'having fun'. I went out on Saturday for a friend's birthday and I had a couple friends comment on the fact that I didn't drink.... I was like..."and...?" (I was the DD, and they were all drinking...so that probably had something to do with it also) The odd thing was....this group of friends is very much NOT into going out and drinking, but since it was for my friend's b-day, and there was reason to celebrate because some people were taking a much needed vacation...etc.
