Day 5, and starting to lose it
Day 5, and starting to lose it
The cravings are a little strong today, but when I got on SR there was a sweet message waiting for me which helped me decide, I'm not going to make that call.
I hope I can get thru the night.
Okay, here it goes, I PROMISE MYSELF I WILL NOT MAKE THE CALL FOR DRUGS. There I said it. I hope it helps. I hate breaking promises.
Any advice would be fabulous.
Thanks
Debby

Hey Debby--hang in there girl--you don't know what is waiting on the other side--if you can get to a meeting go--if you can do an act of kindness for someone else--do it--every time we get through a difficult time we are stronger. They forge the steel with the hammer and the fire. Everything that doesn't kill us only makes us stronger. Don't quit before the miracle happens, it may be only five minutes away. Try eating a little chocolate or perhaps some orange juice and if you can, take a little nap. Call a fellow member in recovery in your area and talk. Also, if the weather is nice and you can, take your shoes off and go walk in the grass. Sounds wierd, but it helps. Don't forget to tell "the rest of the story"--when you get to the other side of this difficult time--share the victory and bear witness to someone you can help. Holding you up in Spirit, Queenshenique
Debbie,
Hang in there! Try to find a project around the house -- like cleaning out a closet or do something to pamper yourself (polish fingernails, take a bubble bath, read a book). If you can get your mind off of the cravings, they will eventually go away. I know the struggle all too well. I have been relapsing the last 2 months. Take my hand and we can weather this out together.

Great job Debby!! I will say the same thing I need to hear sometimes, and already said on another post, we are doing the MOST important thing we could ever do in our lives to live a happier, healthier, all around sweeter life!!! Keep hanging in there, you MADE it thru a craving Doesn't that power make you feel good. You will get stronger every time, just as everyone here is saying...... Listen.... we have ALL been there, and are there at times. You are doing it...... Great job!!! Love, Becky
You Go Girl! Big push up from Queenshenique--know the hook to the song that goes "I feel the power!"--that's what's playing in my head right now. When we don't quit five minutes before the miracle happens--we get to find out how good it is on the other side. This applies to any situation in recovery when we face fear, temptation, difficulties of whatever kind. When we push "onward thru the fog" we discover what only those who persevere know--it's really good on the other side. Remember--you're "Too Legit to Quit"--hang in there--look forward to celebrating your first birthday "on line". You made my day today! May the Force Be With You Always!
