Happy Day 4

I am waking up slowly to my 4th Day Sober.

Its gopod to be taking action rather than planning to do it at some other time.

Lennon said; "...Life is what happens while your busy making other plans..."

The day stretches ahead and I think I need some company if only briefly, so I will visit a good friend later today.

Thanks Time2Surrender, I will.

Actually I am feeling nauseous, have a 4 day Headache that won't go, am exhausted, shaking like crazy, slept for 9 hours but the sleep was extremely disturbed, feeling very lonely and scared, but I WILL hang in.

but I AM at day 4 and that makes me Happy.

Wonderful!!

Here you fo..
Day 3/4 are usually the hardest.

Tips from my own detox...

Water and OJ with honey works well...Aspirin for aches..Cut out caffeine..Eat a soft diet..Hard candy for shakes.

Add a Multi vitamin + B 12 + a daily will also help.

You may have trouble sleeping...simply rest and do not panic!

Your system will balance out if you do not drink.

Hope this will help

Hi Nogard...after day 4 comes day 5. Go to AA. Find a home group. Go to their meetings for a while, listen and learn. After some time listening you'll hear lots of sharing and commenting. Listen well and you'll hear someone with some solid time in, good sobriety, and some interests in common with you. That could be your temp. sponsor. You don't have to do this alone. In fact you shouldn't do it alone. A temp. sponsor can help in ways you can't imagine yet. In AA we don't have to anything alone. It is a true fellowship and you'll make friends quickly. People who will know more about you than you might think. They've been there and know what you're going thru.
Keep coming back and don't leave 5 minutes before the miracle. Right now you're getting dry, the next step is getting sober. That's the hardest part. Good luck and God bless.

Thanks jbm. I will not do this alone, have already set up some support. AA does amazing work, I do know a bit about it. I have decided to get the support that I need for now while I get sober and after that I will do whatever it takes to stay sober including going to AA but not only that.Right now I am staying with what is happening to me at all levels and experiencing it as fully as I can so that on a physical and a spiritual level. In that way I won't set this up again and have to start all over. If I do this I can become whole and make a good life.

I agree about the support though, thanks.

Sorry about the grammar and the spelling, its hard to think straight and type for the moment, but I know it will pass.

Nogard,
In my experience, day 5 is when you start feeling better physically. I've gone thru withdrawl more times that I want to count. I know how horrible it is.

If this is your first time doing it, I truly hope it will be your last. Just like I truly hope I never go thru it again.

Hang in there, it does get better. It's great that you are already setting up support. I always found that as soon as the physical withdrawl went away, that's when my cunning & baffeling disease started to try to talk me into drinking.

Good luck, you can do it!!

Day 6 - Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

The Mornings are especially wonderful, I wake up feeling rested and this morning was singing and dancing. I shall remember this for times when it gets difficult.

It seems as I persist things open up for me.

Day 7 for me and guess how I am going to celebrate? I am going to smile a lot, eat plenty, exercise, work some, keep my guard up and be IN the next 24 SOBER hours.

Day 6 was a little tricky my addiction snuck up on me a few times with things like its Friday, stop work early and ...... I will keep alert and acutious.

Day 7

I feeling like telling myself how clever I am.:bravo

Oh I will also sing and dance as my day moves along

Thanks for all your support.
:hoo
