Rational Recovery

Hello all,

I am 9 days sober and I am interested in going to a rational recovery meeting but am unsure where to find info on this. I have looked on line to no avail. If anyone has any suggestions on this or any additional informaiton on meetings or programs that are not centered around the 12 steps it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help.

Here is a link that compares some of the recovery groups.

SOS and LifeRing, and SMART Recovery are secular, non-12-Step alternatives to AA.

Rational Recovery does not have meetings, in fact they are quite emphaic about that!! I did check and SMART Recovery does have face to face meetings in San Diego. SMART is based on many of the same principles as RR, in fact at one time they were part of the same organization and split apart due to some political disagreements. Anyway here is the info.

San Diego County SMART Groups
For San Diego County meetings call a tape recorded message at 858-455-1159

A. Thomas Horvath (PA) [email protected]

Steve Scherer (PA) [email protected]

Kerry King (PA) [email protected]

Linda Edwards (SD Administrator) [email protected]

PA-A SMART Recovery® Professional Advisor (PA) is typically a licensed behavioral health professional who has
experience in treating addictive behavior, and a desire to volunteer to help individuals gain independence from
addictive behavior through the SMART organization.

Hope this helps.
