Mental Fog?
Who else is going through the mental fog too?
I hope it goes away soon. I can't think straight for anything, my mind is mush, and I can't even remember very much.
Soon..................Hopefully.

It does go away though, it is all a matter of time...and *patience*. LOL, I think I have to work on the patience part.
I guess just like an addict, "I want patience, RIGHT NOW*. HEHE, I heard that from someone at a meeting.

Yep, I've got the fogginess going on, too. I do have more and more moments of clarity - which is mostly welcome, but occasionally uncomfortable! You're right, Hope, it will pass. I need to develop some patience, too, so we're in the same boat there as well.
I hope things are going better for you overall, dear Hope.
take care,

My
depression and my mental confusion were gone when I was about 2/3 months sober. It was a not a dramatical ZAP but a slow process.
That is why I have no precise time to offer.

Alas, Hope, my fogginess still comes and goes--even after 14 months!!! However, it is nothing like the fogginess I experienced when drinking and drugging. I amy actually be noticing the fog more now because I have a lot more periods of clarity. I also suffer from depression so my experience may not be the same as others.
The important thing is that it is better than drinking!!!

"God grant me patience...but, hurry!"
I can't remember exactly how long it took for the fog to lift...but, I do know I enjoyed clarity for a good 20 years...long enough to work two jobs, earn a college degree taking evening and weekend courses, take two wonderful trips to Europe, enjoy summer vacations with my granddaughter, write about 2/3 of a book of memoirs (must finish it).
Not to burst anyone's bubble; but, the older I get, the less clear things are...lots of Senior Moments and searching for words that used to come to me so quickly. My consolation is that I don't want to drink, and I can only imagine how much worse growing old would be with alcohol added to the natural fog.
I try to keep the brain active by doing two cross word puzzles each day and playing bridge on-line. I hope it helps somewhat.
My experience so far is that the fog lifts slowly, but there are times of clarity within that. After 7 months its still lifting, but is far better than it was in the early weeks.
