Alcohol does tend to do that. Yes

Progressive addictions do that.

Today one beer is enough.
Next week 2 beers will need be what I want.
5 weeks 3 beers.
5 years... beers replaced with spirits.
10 years ... 2 bottles
11 years ... 3 bottles

graham, only in that there is a genetic componene involved in SOME peoples' alcoholism. I certainly did not set out to be an alcoholic as a lifes' work, but it turned out that way because, at first, before the compulsion, I CHOSE to drink, and drink heavily.
