Ohhhh, what a wonderful thread!

I'll add:
Sitting in a cozy chair in a south-facing window on a sunny-but-cold winter day, with a purring cat on your lap, peaceful music in the background, and a lilac-scented candle burning. Ahhh, the peace!

I live in a town that sets overlooking a river valley and this time of year you can

Watch the sunset slowly in the west and the sun shining on all the pretty trees with fall colors

All the beautiful mums in all the yards takes my breath away as well

I am sitting here listening to the rain gently fall against the window.
So peaceful.

Doing martial arts, the more relaxing variety, like Tai Chi.

Snuggling into freshly washed sheets...

Waking up to smell of coffee brewing...

Quitely drinking a perfect cup of coffee and reading the paper before the rest of the house wakes up...

Reading a great book while lying in a hammok, with a gentle breeze and the sounds of water nearby....

And last, but not least....finally getting to pee when you've been holding it for the last few hours...maybe silly, but true!

jumping in a hot tub full of lavender scented bubbles and soaking til the hot water runs out....

the smell of fall in the air - there's no other smell like it...

the beautiful fall colored leaves against a crystal blue sky...

the smell of wood burning in a fireplace or fire pit...

the smell of toasted marshmallows over an open fire....

Thanks susan!

I can so relate to the laughing, giggling, smiling, been quite awhile since I had done that.. and it was truly a surprise the first time I laughed out loud sober.

This is a good re-read.

Where ever Susan is...I hope she's safe and doing well (...)

1. A perfectly constructed oboe reed

2. A melody that seems to strike at the very core of your soul

3. An echo-y old cathedral

4. Freshly Pledged wood

5. Anything scented with Warm Vanilla

6. The crack and pop of knots on logs in a fireplace

7. Sparklers

8. Really awesome hair days

9. Hot Fudge drizzled over Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream

10. Bono's jaw-line (don't ask...)

Thanks Chy for the remider too of laughing out loud the first time I was getting sober. It was such a foreign thing I almost forgot how and it surprised me as well!

My girlfriend just sent me this, and I had to add it:

-Flying around at 7.3 G's on a F18!!! How cool!
- She really loves "natural highs!"

I have to add - cool friends that love you unconditionally, teach you about strength, courage and living life to the fullest (w/out dope!)

Better make sure you take some dramamine before you go, she said it took everything she had not to puke at 7.3G's. Going straight up and straight down, plane twisting and turning, rolling upside down...but, of course, she can't wait to do it again.

She's in the Canadian Armed forces and is actually a fighter plane mechanic, the pilots all love her & decided to take her for a ride!

What a natural high! This girl is a Godsend, as she is constantly high on life. I don't have many friends, but she is precious to me, she served as an inspiration to get off my butt and start living life, something I couldn't do on dope.

I really am blessed to have her in my life!

I'd gladly give up a couple toes on my left foot to be able to ride in one of those jets.
She sounds like a great friend, SS.
