husband recovering from meth

My husband quit meth on Friday. He is going through terrible withdrawls. I need help on how to deal with his moods and be supportive. I know I can't do it for him but I need to know how to be supportive and keep him going on this path.
Help!

Eli,
Welcome, You will find alot of support here and at the narc-anon site.
I have a question, Did you mean Methadone or meth like speed?
Didnt he have an option to wean himself off the methadone?
Just curious because my ex , sorry to say, has gone on and off those programs plenty of times. Normally they would just lower the dose over a period of time to cut down on the withdrawls.
Keep coming back. ask questions. we all share much of the same things.
Addiction and a desire to stop...
Love and support.

I belived, I went into hybernation for weeks.
Using meth (as in speed) puts you at or near pychotic.
Lack of sleep perhapes.
Lack of food too.

Trying to stop.
Extreemly dysfunctional.
Unemployable that's for sure. Un able to cope or
meet the demands of society, a relationship, ect.

I had an extreemly short fuse. Everything made me angery
or set me off. Any little thing ...like spelt milk or peaple tell'in
me what to do. I had to see a Mental health doctor.

My body was all sucked up. I lacked energy. Getting out
of bed was a struggle. I had to excercize to regain my
muscles.
A habit of not eat. Eating was a challenge. I had to eat
so my body can survive and rebuild it. I started taking
walk, then started jogging. Then started lifting wieghts.

I still suffer from eating disorder today.
I developed a bloode suger level problem becuase of my using.
When my bloode suger level drops. My body shake and sweat
my heart starts pumping . I become irrable fast or can get
into a rage .

Drove my motorcycle all day and spent time in nature.
It kept me away from my old play grounds. (Mental urges)
It kept me out of trouble. ( had a bad temper).

Nature healed me. I was learning to live or function again.
Nature didn't deman anything from me and it didn't tell
me what to do. Plus I can scream at the top of my lungs
to let out some of my anger without people judging me

The only family member that kind of understood was my
mother.
Eat , sleep, excercize, go to meetings and see the doctor.
She gave me a couple of bucks everyday for gas and cigg.
Reminded me to go to meetings or doctor appointments.
And made me eat.
She didn't hung out and talked too much of course.lol
But she told me she loves me and just wanted me to BE happy.
