When you first start out, 16 years seems like... I can't find the right words. Fantasy? Never goin' happen? Incomprehensible? Possible but just let me get through a week? Mostly it seems too distant to even take seriously. At 16 years you see it coming. It's unavoidable, unless you get struck by lightening or fall off a cliff. It just comes, one more year, and the thought of a drunken past seems as foreign and distant as 16 years of sobriety did in the beginning. Well, enough of that. Just accept my sincerest congratulations, and we can get on with this thread. |
