Reid, I wonder if they can change the seat. Perhaps there is an after-market seat available that's easier on the back.

Yes, this was the first thing I thought of too but the car is quite low so not sure if would help much. The doctors and a few other people with similar back issues have recommended a SUV type
vehcile moving forward.

Woo Hoo, Weasel in the house!! Great to see you!

I'm late to the party this week. Lots going on in my life. Stress level and anxiety are high. I'll get through it. I'll have to go for lots of walks and limit my exposure to loud and busy atmospheres. The older I get, the more I realize that quiet and calm places really help me not get too wound up. I went to bed early last night and expected to be awake half the night, but I guess all the worrying yesterday wore me out, and I got a full eight hours for the first time that I can remember. Glorious.

Reid, I hope you can get the car situation sorted. I know how little it can take to set off the bulging disc. I have one in my upper back, and there have been times that I can barely function for a few days after it gets fired up.

I am here to be sober no matter what.
Free didn't say that at all; CB did.

Also, I haven't been on much lately but is the 'thanks' button gone for good? I knew there were technical issues with it months ago?

Hey Weekenders! Thanks Mags. I am in!

Reid I hear you on back pain. I too have bulging discs in my lower back. I have chronic pain. I try to manage it with stretching, core strengthening, acupuncture and massage. I hope you feel better soon.

Been feeling pretty sad lately because it was just the first anniversary of my mom's death on April 22. Also, lost my brother right before her. I am trying to honor her by being strong. No urge to drink really. Feeling like my sober muscles are quite strong.

Looking forward to a beach vacation next week. It is a good time to go because I am caught up at work. I will try to check in more often here.

Sadly it looks like it may have gone for good although it is on a "to do" list of items to fix. I believe the problem is connected to a forum software upgrade which broke a lot of customisations that the tech people had put in place over the years for SR.

Thanks again Weasel! Good to see you.

Hi Bim.

Reid, I hope your back is soon better. And the seat in your car sorted out for better comfort for you. I used to have a works vehicle that gave me chronic back ache and it only stopped when I got another vehicle.

I miss the ‘thanks’ button too.

CBS, it must be a sad time for you with the memory of losing your mum and brother. Sorry you’re going through it. It’s good your sober muscles are strong.

Marty I hope you have the weekend off work and can get out walking, ease the stress levels.

Our gas is back on an hour ish ago, after being renewed gas pipes on the road. Yaaay. What a palava!

Getting ready for some grilling as it’s a nice day in Maine. For some, grilling is a trigger as are so many normal things. A cravings life is fleeting compared to ours. They have no power over us as they struggle to catch our attention. Like the crazy person in line at the grocery store, don’t make eye contact. Look away at something else and before you know it you are soberly on your way again. ❤️

Suze, this is what Free wrote: "An active addict feels like (insert negative self description here).
We used, so we wouldn’t feel hurt, shame, depressed, lost, lonely……………

In fact, I think that’s ALL active addicts DO feel." So Suze I guess there is a misunderstanding because you mentioned the "We" part.
