Congratulations on 1,000+ days today Haris!

Welcome to the Weekenders Myley

Mags, towards the end it was also 4 day binges at home for me too. I'm definitely glad I don't waste time like that anymore.

Thanks Mags and Dee! I’m in for a sober weekend!

We have an out of town wedding this weekend. First step of the plan is to NOT join everyone else by going a day early to partake in the rehearsal dinner festivities. We will arrive shortly before the wedding starts on Saturday and head back to our hotel as soon as the reception is over.

I hope everyone has a great weekend

Thank you for the welcomes to the weekend thread. I slept so hard last night, that even after all these hours since I've been up, I still feel half awake. I've been so emotionally drained lately, that I needed that hard sleep.

It's a beautiful day here, so a long walk in nature sounds very enjoyable.

Hoping all is well in Magsie's world

Ever day in active addiction I was destroying myself. Easter or not, same old drag. High on cloud 9 one day in the pit of hell the next. Loaded-up my body may be at an Easter function but I was checked out mentally and not there at all. That's addiction the great theft, robbing you of a life worth living.

On a lighter note. WE DO RECOVER!!!!! YEA BABY YEA!!!!!!!

My back bone is tricky today with yesterday heavy lifting( done out of position) mishap. Ahhhh I must have been operating on dummy mode. I know better about heavy lifting as manual labor was my profession. It's not too bad thank my lucky stars. OTC pain relievers are Gods gift to humanity. Thank you Lawdy Yes sober through the thick and the thin.

Mags, I'm in the weekenders relm.

Bless all of you here at SR. "I can't, we can."

A very famous Aussie song comes to mind, after that "yea, baby yea"

And yes, I am dancing.

My back is stuffed- crushed vertebrae from childhood falls, found out last year. Being a nurse didn't help. No matter. I am independent and for that, despite years of boozing, is wonderful and am very grateful for.
Welcome to newies. Congrats to those with milestones.

Good Morning Weekenders

Thanks Zencat. Never thought it was possible to get away from the clutches of booze. Glad we all found the recovery road.

Good to see you Britbird, Citrus and Miley.

My humble new tree (Snow Showers~Weeping White Cherry). It is but a few feet high and it’s roots aren’t established yet. I watched it yesterday blowing in the wind and wanted to go out and protect it. But I just watched and hoped for it, ready to pick it up if the wind did blow it over.
Once it’s roots are established it can grow and flourish and blossom. It reminded me it’s very like our recovery journey. We strengthen our roots with each day we’re sober. As our roots grow so does our sobriety, giving us strength to withstand any storms that come our way.

Love to all Weekenders. Shout out if you’re struggling.

I'm in for a sober weekend
Congratulation @Dee74 on 16 years - amazing!!!
And well done everyone else for their milestones.
I'm terrible at following threads and replying to people individually so apologies in advance
It's sunny here in the UK - it's a miracle so I'm off for a walk and lunch soon with my sister I'll be quietly celebrating 81 days
I hope everyone has a lovely Easter weekend x

Congratulations on 81 days overforty. I'm just ahead of you - I'm on day 84 today.

Enjoy your walk, I'm heading out for one soon. I'm also having lunch with the family - we're going out to have fish and chips. I'm looking forward to it!
