I'm IN. Thanks, Mags.
Congratulations, calmself and RunnerF!
Racking up those days.
Glad to see you, Lixie. Hang in there, you can do this.

I'm finally healed from that virus that would not give up. It's been a rough few weeks. Work is insanely busy and I have had very little energy to deal with anything other than that. I get home after work and just sit in my chair and rest. I do make and eat dinner, take care of my cats and fish tank, but nothing else. Bedtime has been about 8:30 for weeks now. Hoping to get to a semblance of normal soon.

Awwwe, Lixie, I've been there many times. Can you stop now and think of things that you can do for yourself? Stay close and reach out for help. Sending you love and healing thoughts. ❤️

I'm sorry for your unhappiness, Lixie.

Do the next right thing to take gentle care of yourself.

Good Morning Weekenders

Lixie, stay close. shout out if you want.

Marty, pleased your virus has passed. Sensible to rest when you needed to.

Purps, it would be nice!

Still dark here at just gone 4.30 am in England. Not sure what the weather will bring today but if like yesterday, rain, rain then more rain. Think we had a glimmer of sun too…no rainbows that I could see, I’m sure they were there somewhere.

I finished a goodish series on Netflix last night. ‘The Night Agent’. I thought Rose Larkin kicked a££ pretty well.

Have a good sober day.

Love to all Weekenders xxxx

Good Morning Mags,

I'm IN please for another sober one. It's just getting light here at 6:30 am but a full day of rain is forecast. Little news but sometimes quiet is good. I have a day off work and will probably clean the flat and catch up with some reading. Grateful for a little peace and down time.

Thoughts to those struggling and congrats to those doing well.

All the best, Forwards.

Yay Lixie! Maybe we’ll see you around in some of the other threads as well….it may help to reach out for additional support (same for everyone else too!)

Welcome Shamrock!

Welcome to the Weekenders Shamcock

It's my turn to go down with some sort of bug. I couldn't stop sneezing all day yesterday and felt absolutely shattered. I didn't sleep too well last night as my nose was too stuffy and I couldn't breathe properly. I'm feeling a bit better today. No sneezing but I am feeling a bit sweaty. I'm going to have a very lazy day today as I can't be bothered to do anything.

Robbie, I hope you get over it quickly.

Shamrock, welcome aboard.

Lixie, to me, just thinking outloud, what do you think keeps leading you back to drinking again? To quote Dear Abby, if action A consistently leads to B, and you want to change B, then you seek to change action A.

Mags, I would gladly take away some of your rain. I'm going to look for Night Agent. Not sure if we're getting Netflix at the moment. We're between series and I keep watching Clarkson's farm reruns with Mr CB watching cooking shows.

Robbie, have your hayfever/allergies started, hence the sneezing. There’s a lot of rapeseed in the fields at the minute. If it’s a bug, Hope you’re soon feeling better.

Welcone to Weekenders Shamrock

CityBoy, I’d gladly pass you over some rain if I could.

Hi everyone! I wonder if others experience something similar. When I was in active drinking days, I remember looking at people who don't have addiction problems and not comprehending how do they even live like this and not have their life wrapped around alcohol. Although years sober from alcohol, I am in a similar spot now. I look at people around me, and I can't imagine what it's like not to be eaten by these intense desires, having this bottomless pit of longings and cravings for affection. You couldn't tell by looking at me. I appear well-adjusted, social, successful at work, active at church. But inside, I just feel like howling many times throughout the day. And I wonder what it's like to live a normal peaceful life without this constant gnawing.
