Superbowl

Today will be the first Superbowl in over 25 years I’ll be sober. 106 days under my belt and a lot of firsts. We are just cooking some food and relaxing . I hope everyone stays sober and safe .

Good for you Dawgsforlife!

Plan out some likely scenarios in your head and you’ll be ready for anything
Hope your team wins

Good plan, Dawgs. Plenty of snacks and good food is a great idea.

One of the nicest parts of sober football is remembering the game afterwards... enjoy, Dawgs!

Dawgs - You'll be so glad in the morning. Congratulations.
Hope you like the outcome. I'm torn between the two.

Dawgs, in the morning you’ll be so happy to be free of the toxins and hangxiety free! I remember many a times being hungover, shaky hands, just loathing myself the day after the superbowl and I’m not even a big football fan just any excuse to drink.

Congrats on 106 days free!!

Kansas City Chiefs won in the end, 38-35. I didn't get to see any of the game as it was on during the night (UK time) but I was wanting the Philadephia Eagles to win.

It was a great game...a nail biter to the end. I was rooting for the Chiefs.

I was asleep through most of the second half, but it was a good game. There were a number of starters from my school, which makes it a little more interesting, to me at least.

I did have alcohol around me also. Part of me did not want to be there but these are my normie friends, not my former drinking pals. Not one questioned my absence of drinking nor did anyone inquire. They know and respect my history. I decided that I can't avoid the presence of alcohol forever but I won't purposely include myself in situations where alcohol is a focal point of a gathering. I can't say that I wasn't uncomfortable because I was and I was prepared to bail if needed.
