Tomorrow is one week

Yay. I made it to one week again without alcohol. No withdrawal symptoms except extreme sleepiness this time… did anyone else have this? I didn’t have this the other 10 times or so I got to a week point. It’s my only symptom though. It could also be cause of other reasons. I’ve been working long days and working out everyday but today I feel just simply exhausted

Congratulations AJ.

Yes, I've had sleepiness, as well as insomnia. Both pretty normal in the early days, and will eventually find equilibrium.

Thank you both . Ya normally it is the insomnia for me that’s tough. This time it’s opposite. Feels like I took sleeping pills but I didn’t. The winds are 30-40 miles an hour where I live right now so maybe going on runs in this weather is also contributing to the “I so tired I must have gotten hit by a bus” feeling

Thank you everyone. I have been crying all night. Somehow it feels cathartic though. Like blocked fear or pain leaving me…

Thank you everyone. No desire to drink yet. A big desire for chocolate. I got myself low calorie (150 cals) ice cream sandwiches …. But im eating like 2-3 a night lol. Hoping this craving stops soon … at least it doesn’t get me buzzed

AJ, in early sobriety, I would sometimes binge on those ice cream sandwiches as well. It morphed into going to ice cream and frozen custard shops and I know all of them within 30 minutes of home now. It morphed again into getting an ice cream machine for Christmas, but kind of over it at this point.

Like Anna said, the emotions sound like part of a healing process. Letting go of all the baggage. It a step forward.
