Sober Valentine - Weekenders 10 - 16 February 2023
Wow, lots of stuff happening!
Robbie--OMG, so scary, you were so right in having things checked out when you did, and thankfully you have the stents and a diagnosis. And you know what to work on to make sure you stay healthy.
Alpine--waiting is tough, hope you hear soon.
Happy Aus birthday Suze! Definitely celebrate for 2 days!
Hi to everyone I didn't mention and let's all have a great weekend.

Hi to everyone I didn't mention and let's all have a great weekend.
Thanks for all your comments. I'm just glad I went to my Doctor when I did, although i had been putting it off for a few weeks in the hope my health would improve.
The cardiologist who inserted my stents said at the end of the procedure that this is a fresh start for me (he knew about my drinking problems and lifestyle choices from my medical history record) but I have to take major steps to improve my health. The interesting part was as he was doing the procedure he was guided by being able to see the x-ray images of my arteries on a big screen, which was to my left. Which meant I could turn my head to the left and watch it all... it was like watching a TV medical documentary but in real time and me (or rather my arteries) being on TV. I found it fascinating to watch.

Thanks Mags, I am in for a sober weekend.
Wow So much going on. Robbie so glad you got to the doc when you did and they recognized the need to act right away.
HaPpY Birthday Size
Alpine I hope you get news soon and that is it as good as it can be.
Welcome Kilo.
I am a February baby too, the 24th. I will be 61. Yikes. We are going to the beach for 3 nights for it so I am happy about that. My granddaughter will be 7 on the 16th and she wants us to take her out for sushi!
Looking forward to acupuncture tomorrow and tennis.

Wow.....there are a lot of us. And thank you SO MUCH!!! ❤️❤️
CBS on the 24th, Alpine on the 27th, Kilo (not sure the day). So far, I am the only Aquarian. You Pisces people are way more stable and level-headed, I think.

I had to do a double check back to a post I made a few hours ago when I gave a welcome and a wave to Klio as some posters are spelling her name as Kilo. I thought I must have got it wrong but I've double checked and it is Klio...

End of Day 452 - Ran 7.7 kms in one hour. Again a nice walk post dinner with my 4th grader son, when I asked him about his day at school. He was happy that I spent quite a bit of time with him. Feeling sleepy - Good night from Seattle. Stay strong all.
Thanks Dee and Mags, I'm IN for the weekend.
Quite a wake up call you've had there Robbie - glad you're getting the attention you need. In another life I would like to have been a medical physicist - isn't the science amazing!
So, no date and no plans for Valentines weekend but at least I'll be sober for which I'm hugely grateful. I have to say during my sober years my social life has dwindled a bit. Perhaps I need to make more of an effort. Beforehand dating took me nowhere anyway as I told myself (correctly) that a relationship with this particular drunken wreck would be a disaster! Ho hum, on we go...
Warmest wishes to all Weekenders. Forwards.

Happy birthday to all who have one coming up. Am I the only weekender not born in February, LOL?
Forwards, perhaps there is some other interest of yours that would be a means of social exposure, not based on drinking?
Robbie, I really can't imagine watching the screen for such a procedure. I'm one of those people who look as though they are a little kid about to get a shot at the pediatrician's office just when I give bloodwork.
