Hi Ben, I'm enjoying the gifts that not drinking has given me today, plentiful gifts Being able to drive to family and friends and enjoy the drive not worrying whether I'm over the limit or not Observing my 3rd Christmas alco free, interacting with people, watching people's reactions when they open gifts Celebrating with my dad who has had cancer but done all his treatment and is going to be ok. Actually enjoying his company and making him feel good Eating, drinking and being merry without the added stress of worrying about booze running out or what I've said to someone Resting my head on the pillow and saying "wow, another great day on the planet" It's small stuff, that means so much, that is the essence of living Kick that nonsense booze out mate, a life in colour awaits you when you flip the switch and focus on living |
Stay close to us, BenfromLondon. We here realize how truly hard it is to ‘finally, once and for all’ put down our dreaded poison but so very many of us have discovered just how wonderful doing so can be. There are so many rewards in sobriety. I look forward to a post from you just like Stewy1984’s (which brought tears of joy). |
