Wobble

Found it very hard yesterday. I didn’t succumb thankfully.
I went for a long walk which really helps. I feel so much better, that AV niggles at you. I don’t want to go back to where I was.
Posting to get it of my system. This helps me hope everyone else is staying strong. Day 12 here I come. 🙏

Good for you on pushing that av back down. It has no place in your life, and the more you push it down the stronger you will get. I am proud of you because I have had many wobbles in the past so I know how hard it can be.

Good job! The more you succeed, the weaker the AV gets and the stronger you become. It's work, and it has a great payout. Keep going, you're doing great.

There is something very therapeutic about a walk; well done, Swordfish.

Stay close and keep long walks in your toolbox.

I've personally discovered that I can never allow complacency in any form. I can never listen to the AV - it is a LIAR and it is RUTHLESS.

My sober, sane, intelligent mind knows the truth. My brain/soul/spirit needs NO alteration to be more than sufficient. There is no reason for me to drown out God's astounding glory (that's me! that's you!) with dull, sleepy, chemical mediocrity.

Run, scream, swim, dance, read, eat, fly away. Go fishing. Bake a cake. Write a poem. Watch a film. Feed some ducks. Rake some leaves. Build a model. Paint a bathroom. Play a game.

Action is life. Drinking is death.

Good for you for taking action. Keep coming back!!!

Well done swordfish, keep going and everyone is rooting for you, give the alcohol the "knock out" punch it deserves and send it to the canvas

A reasonable comparison for the AV would be like the petulant child. It wants attention, but offers nothing thought out or logical. But unlike a child, you can be rude to your AV. Give it no quarter. It's an enemy you don't have to compromise with, and the best strategy is to avoid the bargaining table altogether. The AV comes out of the chaos of your subconscious. It's an emotional imbecile of gibberish and doesn't deserve the time of day. We are all better than our AV and stooping to its level is a grave mistake.

Good for you, Swordfish. You gain strength every time you overcome one of these challenges. For me, these incidents happened less & less as the sober time piled up.

When I was early in recovery I used to take my dogs for a walk any time I felt cravings to drink. I stayed sober and the dogs loved going on so many walks.
