Good Morning Weekenders

Runner, 72 days. Woohoo!

Kaily have you seen the app ‘Snappy Shopper’. Local shops, Co-op etc deliver. Think you have to spend £10 minimum plus delivery but a great way of getting grocery supplies to you. Put your post code in and they show you what shops are nearest and deliver. They give you a timescale of usually a couple of hours. I’ve used them on several occasions. Pretty handy.

Least, I sympathise and hope the itching soon goes.

Got my internet back on from a helpful person over the phone. Unplug this, pull out that, etc. We’d tried that but he probably had a facility to do some repair his end.
Kaily, yeah I was lost without it to. Can only do and see so much on my phone.

Love to all Weekenders. Shout out if you’re struggling. This time of year can be particularly difficult too. xxxx

Took this yesterday morning just after leaving our village. The willow tree always looks so resplendent but with the frost it looked so haunting and beautiful I thought.

Glad you are back up and running, Mags. Can't get deliveries because the road is too slippery. I ended up walking to the shop, took me about 1.5 hours in total with my cautious pigeon steps. I then spent another hour trying to clear some of the road in hope of getting the car out today. Beautiful tree, I love a Willow.

My road

But at least now we have a snowman

That willow tree looks gorgeous and mysterious.

I just had to reset/restart my home pod mini as Siri was not doing as I told her to do. Seems to be working now.

Had a nice evening with ck and son in law. They came over and ordered supper delivery and we ate and visited and had a good time. .

Great pictures! Gosh Kaily, it seems the council doesn’t clear your roads like ours. Not that we get much snow. Glad you got to the shops and back safely. Better to go slow and steady than fall in the snow. Love the snowman.

Apparently it’s -3°C here at the moment with fog. It’s still dark so not opened curtains yet. I have to put the wheelie bin out at 7am though.

Least pleased you had company and a meal too.

The council don't do the side roads, not here anyway. My neighbours really annoyed me, while I was shovelling away several said hello but not one offered to help! All younger than me as well...

It is bin day here too, Mags. I have a feeling they won't be able to come though.

Feeling flat, Christmas is such a challenge with my dad. I would prefer to just let it pass but feel obligated to bring him to mine for lunch. He makes no effort, doesn't even put on clean clothes. It is just me and him. Miserable.

Christmas brings back bad memories. My husband left me for another on Christmas day, long time ago but you don't forget. Then 10 years ago my new partner had a fatal accident on 17th of December. And as a child my Mum died a few weeks before Christmas so it is not a time I need to celebrate. It kind of scares me.

Another few days and the snow will all thaw, Kaily. I'm sorry for the sad times that have happened for you at this time of year.

Great photo of the hoar frost, Mags.

Oh Kaily, sad memories. I can understand your feelings of sadness at Christmas. I think your dad will think of Christmas as a waste of time and wouldn’t mind if you didn’t have him round. But it does give you a focus for a while if he comes over.

Caramel I’d not heard of ‘hoar’ frost until now.

I didn't know it was called hoar frost either.

I took these the day before it snowed, another example of hoar frost plus fog. My hair ended up frosty too as I was out in it for 3 hours.

Thank you Least, I love taking pics. I would love a good camera but it would be too much to carry with the dogs. It's Alfie.

Robbie, did you see the frothy water made frozen like pancakes on the river round your way on the news. They looked great! Ah, I don’t think they were your are but higher up.

great photos Kaily. Your phone takes pretty good photos. But I find I can’t zoom in much on my camera though.
