Weekend Warriors
Weekenders 11 - 14 November 2022
to the Weekenders
Some days it may feel like a battle to get sober and stay sober.
How do we win this battle?
I found flight was always easier than the fight, but I was still there when I stopped running.
What do we need to get and stay sober?
I didn’t know, who does? The people who have fought the battle and have conquered.
We can learn from them.
We went to school to educate us and prepare us for the future. Surely we can educate ourselves to know what we need to conquer and beat this addiction?
With the help of other like minded Warriors, we can win this battle.
We also share bits and pieces of our lives and the things that are important to us, or make us laugh..anything that makes the journey a little easier.
I will be here along with many others, all of us ex drunks and alcoholics. We are your scouts and can tell you what is on the trail ahead so you can be ready for any obstacles. I can tell you to come on! It is rocky and slippery but if you focus on where you place each step, you will have no trouble getting to where I am on the trail.
All of us can tell you where the potholes are, bumps in the road, and the slippery places, but we can't walk your path for you. We can only take joy as you succeed, and cheer, one and all!
If this is your first weekend sober, or many, come join us for support and chat...as we know the weekends can be a struggle sometimes. (We’re here all week too!)

I'm IN!
Kaily, my boy Chauncey was a papillon. Watching that made me smile, even though it also made me miss him. I love the way Lark was barking along the way -- sounds just like Chauncey used to. So cute. Those little doggies can run so fast - when I first got him I didn't realize how much of a runner he was, and he got away from me twice while I was getting him into the car with no leash. He took off like a shot. I was much more careful after that and leashed him ALWAYS. As time went on he slowed down, of course, but I never quite trusted him to not just take off.

It’s good here too Leigh….still very windy but the rain seems to have stopped….and the power is still on, so I can’t complain!
Edit to add: Though I am glad I moved the plants last night when I did….they’d be all over the place!
